Opening a home decor store, like A Matter of Style, was a dream of owner, Renee' Gleason. She began her design business, Graceful Interiors, in 1998, creating and sewing window treatments for family and friends. Shortly thereafter, Renee' opened a small design studio and boutique in her home.
An opportunity to purchase a small 1908 farm house, located in Renton, became available in 2003. After opening the doors in April of 2004, A Matter of Style, Inc. was established and the business grew into a full service design firm.
The business was growing rapidly and the need for a bigger building was necessary. Renee's husband, David, a real estate developer, had been inquiring for over 5 years about a vacant building on the Maple Valley Highway. The 1945 building was originally a Baptist church and then eventually an antique shop for a short time. The building remained vacant and run down for many years. The Gleasons purchased the building in 2006 and have been remodeling it over the last few years.
Thank you to the many loyal friends and customers who have contributed to the expansion and relocation of our store to the Maple Valley Highway. The Grand Opening of A Matter of Style's new store was May 2009. The store can now offer and showcase to its customers a wider selection of home decor, furniture brands and styles. A Matter of Style stakes their reputation on quality, affordable furnishings with friendly customer service.
